Libya’s National Oil Corp. (NOC) disclosed that German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas highlighting the need to end the oil facilities blockade in Libya. This concern is presented at a meeting in Tripoli held on Monday, August 17. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC Chairman, met Maas and talked about the economic and environmental damage of the Libyan oil blockade, and the need for prompt ending of the blockade, also Germany support for NoC’s restoring production effort.
Libyan factions loyal to eastern commander Khalifa Haftar began the blockade of oil terminals and fields on January 18, The move gradually reducing Libyan national output to less than 100,000 barrels/day from around 1.2 million barrel/day.
