South Korea’s GS Energy entered a blue ammonia project with Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), holding company ADQ, and Japan’s Mitsui.
The 1 million tpa project will be located in the UAE’s Ruwais in partnership with Ta’ziz and Fertiglobe. GS Group will own a 10% stake in the project.
GS Group has also secured a deal to buy 200,000 tpa of blue ammonia from the UAE from 2025. With that amount, the company will be able to produce 30,000 tpa of hydrogen which is enough to run 75,000 units of Hyundai Motor's only fuel cell Nexo SUVs about 40,000 kilometers.
