On Sunday, the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said that energy companies in the US Gulf of Mexico shut significant productions of oil and natural gas due to the threat from Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura.
57.6% or 1.07 million bpd of offshore crude oil output and 44.6% or 1,205 mmcfd of natural gas production were shut due to the storms.
Workers from 114 production platforms out of 643 manned ones in the Gulf were evacuated.
