The United States’ Gulf of Mexico oil production closure reduced the production by 84%, or around 1.56 million barrels for the second day in a row, as reported by the U.S Department of Interior. As Hurricane Laura pass through the Gulf of Mexico, the region cut the natural gas production by 1.65 billion cubic feet or around 61%, government official data shows. The energy firms located in the area have evacuated their staff from 310 facilities ahead of the storm.
