Honeywell International, Inc. won a propylene contract from OOO ZapSibNeftekhim, a subsidiary of PJSC Sibur Holding for its facilities in western Siberia, Russia, that uses Honeywell UOP C3 Oleflex technology.
OOO ZapSibNeftekhim will raise its propylene output by more than 8% to 561,000 tpa.
UOP is providing technology licensing and basic engineering design, in addition to services, equipment, catalysts, and adsorbents for the project.
OOO ZapSibNeftekhim is Russia’s biggest petrochemical complex with a total capacity of 2.5 million tpa of base polymers which consists of 1.5 million tpa of polyethylene (PE) and 1 million tpa of polypropylene (PP).
It said that the plant’s increasing capacity will support the growing market for products made from propylene while reducing production costs. It added that the global olefin market is growing by 3-4% per year.
