India’s Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) has postponed the maintenance shutdown at its refineries on labor and material shortages.
BPCL delayed the maintenance shutdown of secondary units at its Kochi and Mumbai refineries. An official said that there would be no turnaround in April.
For two or three weeks next month, the company is also planning to close the continuous catalytic cracker and some other units at its 240,000 bpd Mumbai refinery and vacuum gasoil de-sulphuriser and some other units at 310,000 bpd Kochi refinery.
On a related issue, India has imposed a lockdown in the country for 21 days effective on Wednesday while only allowing essential commodities to be supplied. The regulation forced some industries to stop operations and some ports to state force majeure.
