To convert waste plastic into the raw material to make new plastic, a collaboration announced by INEOS and PLASTIC ENERGY on the construction of a new plant. The new facility is targeted to start production at the end of 2023.
Waste plastic converted back to its basic molecules by using advanced recycling technology. The resulting material is then used by INEOS to replace traditional raw materials.
From PLASTIC ENERGY’s current advanced recycling process, the first trials of the product have been completed. Through the INEOS cracker at Köln, Germany, the new raw material has been successfully converted into virgin polymer. To demonstrate the benefits of the process, the plastics produced from this trial will now be used by selected brands and customers.
Advanced plastic recycling facility removes all contamination so that the resulting polymers can be used in food and medical packaging, where safety standards require the highest level of product purity.
