Ineos Styrolution and Canadian clean technology startup Polystyvert partner to recycle polystyrene (PS).
Ineos Polystyvert plans to dissolve post-consumer PS into an end product of a cleaned polymer able to be used as the new raw material resin.
The patented dissolution method is able to treat all types of feedstock, including industrial waste and post-consumer streams while also eliminating a variety of hard-to-remove contaminants such as pigments and brominated flame-retardants.
The dissolution technology is a cost-effective solution to recycle PS in a closed loop.
