Ineos’ styrenics subsidiary Ineos Styrolution has signed an agreement for joint development with Recycling Technologies, UK’s provider of specialist plastic recycling technology, to enhance the development of the recycling of polystyrene (PS) in Europe.
The agreement recognizes the commercial value of post-consumer plastic waste to restrain it from being incinerated or ending up in the landfill. The two companies will further advance the depolymerization process based on Recycling Technologies’s fluidized-bed technology to commercially recycling PS.
Previously, Recycling Technologies had finished a detailed research and trial process with Styrolution which included PS scientific research and processing on Recycling Technologies’ Mark II test reactor.
