AlwaysFree: IOC Fully Restarted Paradip Refinery

On Saturday, Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOC) has restarted all units at its 300,000 bpd Paradip refinery in Jagatsighpur, Odisha following an extended maintenance shutdown.

Two of nine major units underwent maintenance have started with the remaining seven are being restarted in sequence and the start-up is planned to be completed in two days. Some secondary units have continued operations using feedstock available with the plant, while others including the crude unit were started on Saturday.

Previously, the restart was delayed due to the lack of manpower amid the coronavirus pandemic. Out of about 1,400 workers and supervisors mobilized for shutdown jobs from outside, less than 400 were available.
