Iranian methanol producer Kaveh shut its 2.3 million tons/year Dayyar production facility on November 10 after struggling with unstable production. The plant will be offline for up to two weeks. The reason behind the unstable production remained unclear. The unstable output is expected to reduce Kaveh’s methanol shipments to China to 20,000 tons in November from more than 100,000 tons typically. The shutdown is also expected to reduce exports in December significantly.
