On Thursday, Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical’s LPG Unit caught fatal fire killing a worker and injured three others.
The fire broke out during the removal of hydrocarbons from the plant’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unit. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes.
On Wednesday, the unit was shut for full maintenance.
After the accident, the operations at the plant continued normally. The methanol unit of the plant is fully operational.
The managing director of Kharg Petrochemical, Gholamreza Amirshaghaghi did not elaborate on the scale of the damage at the LPG unit or its expected start-up date.
