On Sunday, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji announced that Iran and Azerbaijan will cooperate in the energy sector with agreements signing to be in the near future.
The two countries have agreed to cooperate in swapping gas from other countries in the region including Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan. They are also discussing the development of oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea.
Oji hopes that in the coming weeks, good agreements will be signed with Azerbaijan in the field of oil, gas, and the development of Caspian oil and gas fields.
"We discussed a number of new projects in the energy sector and I believe new documents will be signed in the near future,” said Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev.
Mustayev has also discussed an expansion of cooperation in transport areas with Iran, which includes the fields of transportation, transit, and transportation-related services.
