Iraq was India’s largest crude supplier in July, accounting about 20% of the country’s total imports, according to latest customs data. India’s imports of Iraqi oil stood at 796,000 bpd in July, rising from 786,000 bpd a year earlier. Saudi Arabia followed in the second spot with 640,000 bpd, falling from 856,000 bpd in the same month last year.
The UAE increased crude exports to India from 250,000 bpd in July 2019 to 563,000 bpd in July 2020, making it India’s third-largest crude supplier for that month. The US followed in the fourth spot, at 411,000 bpd, jumping from just 52,000 bpd a year earlier. Other India’s significant crude suppliers in July included Russia (125,000 bpd) and Nigeria (180,000 bpd). Meanwhile, imports of Venezuelan crude fell from 253,000 bpd a year ago to zero.
