On Wednesday, Jordan’s Petroleum Refinery Co. (JPRC) is selecting international contractor bidders for its expansion project.
Previously in January, JPRC invited companies to prequalify for the project. Three consortia which include seven Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and British companies have applied in the bid.
JPRC did not provide further details.
The refinery expansion project will have an investment of USD2.6 billion to double capacity to 120,000 bpd. It is planned to start in the third quarter of 2022 and is set to complete in 2023.
The project, which has long been delayed, is set to cover 90% of the petroleum products market in the kingdom.
