AlwaysFree: Kuwait Imposed A Full Curfew for 20 Days

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Sunday, Kuwait announced began the full curfew for 20 days nationwide to restrict the spread of the coronavirus and to prepare a gradual reopening and return to normal life.

The full curfew went into effect at 16.00 local time on Sunday and will last until May 30.

Only vital government departments are allowed to work and private sector operations have to stop with some exceptions.

Except for cooperative societies, food stores, and pharmacies, home deliveries will also stop.

Previously, since the second week of March until Sunday, Kuwait imposed a partial curfew from 16.00-08.00 daily. Activities in the public sector and by government ministries were also stopped completely.

Going forward, analysts view the curfew will negatively dent the already harmed transport fuel demand domestically.

State-run refiner KNPC said in mid-April that jet fuel and gasoline demand in the country had stumbled by 70% and 55% each in the period of eight weeks.
