The joint-operation of Khafji and Wafra oil fields will be resumed by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on July 1. Khafji field that was halted for a month will restart the production with 80,000 barrel/day before increasing production to 100,000 barrel/day two month later, and expected to reach 175,000 barrel/day by the end of the year. Wafra oil field will also start the production on the same date with 10,000 barrel/day then slowly rising up to 70,000 barrel/day at the end of August until reaching 145,000 barrel/day at the end of the year.
Wafra and Khafji are located in the boundary of two countries on the Neutral Zone. The joint operations of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) and Saudi Arabian Chevron (SAC) in the Wafra field said that the two companies are preparing to resume their operations.
