On Tuesday, China’s Levima New Materials announced the investment and construction plans for polyethylene (PE), vinyl acetate, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) unit, etc.
Levima is constructing a 20,000 tpa ultra-high molecular weight (PE) and 100,000 tpa vinyl acetate combined plant project in Levima Chemical's existing factory area, Mushi, Tengzhou. The investment is CNY792 million (USD122.67 million), which is set to complete by 18 months.
The company will also invest CNY581.3 million (USD90 million) for the construction of a lithium battery material-carbonate combined plant project, which is planned to be completed in 16 months.
Upon completion, it will have production capacities of 50,000 tpa of ethylene carbonate (EC) products, 52,600 tpa of ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) products, 72,000 tpa of diethyl carbonate (DEC) products, and by-products of 43,600 tpa of ethylene glycol.
