On Monday, two oil units in Libya announced the suspension of works in a precaution of the outbreak of coronavirus.
Libya’s biggest refinery Zawiya in the west of Tripoli said that starting September 8 to 17, it would close its offices, cut staffing by 10%, and placing them on emergency leave.
Eastern Libya’s AGOCO had suspended all work and activities, except for operations related to industrial safety and security, to protect oil workers from the pandemic. The suspension is said to last for 30 days.
Both companies said the precautionary measures were announced without any infections among their staff.
