AlwaysFree: LNG Vessels Wait for Hurricane Delta Landfall in US Gulf of Mexico

Author: SSESSMENTS

According to Refinitiv data, many liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers were waiting for the Hurricane Delta’s landfall before entering US export plants in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Two tankers are located at Cheniere Energy Inc’s Sabine Pass, which are Pearl LNG and Torben Spirit. Some are seen in Cameron LNG’s Cameron plants. Both plants are in southwest Louisiana. There are also a few on the outside of Freeport LNG’s Freeport plant in Texas.

Traders opined that there were slim chances that any vessel would enter Sabine or Cameron before Delta makes landfall.

Delta is estimated to hit central Louisiana as a major hurricane on Friday, directing more toward Cameron than Sabine.

So far in October, the amount of gas entering all US LNG export plants averaged at 7.2 bcfd, up from 5.7 bcfd in the same period in September.
