Russian energy company Lukoil said it had started the construction of a new catalytic cracker complex in Perm. The new complex will help the company produce more propylene used as a feedstock for its petrochemical plants. The unit is slated for start-up in 2026 and will have a capacity of 1.8 million tons/year. The complex will also include a high-octane gasoline components unit and associated infrastructure. In June, Lukoil also announced that it had started constructing a new 500,000 tons/year polypropylene (PP) plant at its Nizhny Novgorod refining and petrochemicals complex in Kstovo.
