Lummus Technology said it had won a contract to license its proprietary CATOFIN technology to two propane dehydrogenation (PDH) units in Ningbo, in the Chinese province of Zhejiang Province. The PDH units belong to Ningbo Kingfa Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. and will have an individual capacity of 600,000 tons/year. Besides technology licensing, Lummus will also provide process design package, technical service, and catalyst supply through a partnership with Clariant. In 2011, Lummus licensed its CATOFIN technology for Ningbo Kingfa Advanced Materials’ first PDH plant, which is located at the same site.
