Dutch-based chemical maker LyondellBasell on September 9 said that it had gained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus certificate for some of its polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) produced in the US. The certification includes LyondellBasell’s cracker in Channelview, Texas and its polymer production bases in La Porte, Texas; Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Clinton, Iowa.
The ISCC Plus certification is a globally recognized system for providing traceability of recycled and renewable-based materials across the supply chain. LyondellBasell has already obtained the ISCC Plus certification for its circular and bio-circular polypropylene at sites in the Netherlands. The latest certification is expected to help the company extend its Circulen product range to North American customers.
