AlwaysFree: Maersk - Service Changes Asia To/From North America Sailings

Author: SSESSMENTS

According to the company’s website news release on February 13, 2023, as a consequence of the forecast reductions in global demand, Maersk has decided to take action to balance the network and therefore will temporarily suspend our TP20 service until further notice.

The overall goal remains to provide customers with predictability and to ensure minimal disruption to their supply chain by providing adequate alternative routings and coverage for the affected vessel positions.

Below outlining the alternative routing solutions during TP20 phasing out period which may last a few weeks:

  • Jakarta to U.S. West Coast and Gulf: TP20 vessels will be sailing as coastal loaders to China and connect to respective USWC and Gulf strings.
  • Jakarta to U.S. East Coast: Sealand feeders will pre-carry cargo to Singapore/Tanjung Pelepas to connect to TP11 and/or TP17
  • Vung Tau export will be covered on TP17 and TP6 alternatively
  • Import into Jakarta and Vung Tau: will load on alternative strings TP11, TP12 and TP18
  • Maersk expects the above arrangement will provide similar or even better transit time compared to for most corridors. For smaller corridors note mentioned above please contact our local teams for details.

The teams will make sure customers impact is minimised by rebooking cargo where needed and communicate accordingly. In case of any questions, please feel free to contact local customer service or sales representatives or check Schedules for more details.

Thank you for your business. Maersk looks forward to continue serving your global transportation needs.
