On Thursday, McDermott International Ltd. said that it has obtained a large engineering and procurement contract from Azikel Petroleum Ltd. A large contract is, in McDermott’s definition, is worth between USD20-250 million.
McDermott will handle the detailed engineering and design of the inside battery limits (ISBL) modular refinery, along with the supply of equipment and all tagged items within the ISBL, for the modular 12,000 BPD Hydro-Skimming Refinery project in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
The engineering and design will be commenced from McDermott's office in Tyler, Texas with support from its Mexico City office. Meanwhile, the equipment will be sourced from both US domestic and international suppliers.
This contract award will be reflected in McDermott's second-quarter 2020 backlog.
The Azikel Refinery is estimated to be a flagship for Nigeria as it is the first hydro skimming refinery to advance to this level of achievement in the modular refinery regime.
