AlwaysFree: Mexico’s April LPG Imports Slumped

Author: SSESSMENTS

In April, Mexico’s imports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) slumped due to the sharp fall in transportation fuels’ consumption.

Last month, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) posted a 48% year-on-year plunge in LPG imports at 28,800 bpd, also sharply down from 63,700 bpd in March.

Pemex’s LPG production from gas production between in April edged down to 97,000 bpd from 101,000 bpd in March. Ethane production also slid down to 39,000 bpd from 42,000 bpd.

In the week ended May 31, Pemex’s LPG prices to Mexican distributors climbed by more than 11 cents/USG or more, following the earlier propane and butane prices gains at Mont Belvieu, Texas.
