The upcoming Middle East’s biggest gas refinery located in Khuzestan, Iran, will start operation in August.
The Persian Gulf Big Boland gas refinery will have a production capacity of 10.4 million tons of methane, 1.5 million tons ethane, 1 million tons propane, 600,000 tons gas condensates, and 500,000 tons butane per year.
According to the refinery’s managing director Mahmoud Amin-Nejad, the refinery will begin operations with 30% of its nameplate capacity or 20 mcm of gas.
The products of sweet and other gases will feed petrochemical plants in Mahshahr, supplying urban areas in the region, along with exports.
