According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on October 24, 2022, Moldova will experience shortage of electricity from October 24 because of lowered gas supplies from Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu wrote in his Telegram channel.
"The electric power shortage will occur in our country. Commercial contracts signed by Energocom do not cover needs from 07:00 am to 23:00 pm," Spinu said.
Authorities do not plan rolling blackouts at this stage, the official noted. The government will continue looking for new suppliers and allocated extra gas volumes to the Moldova thermal power plant located in Transnistria.
