Motiva Enterprises plan to shut down its 607,000-bpd refinery in Port Arthur, Texas on Tuesday ahead of Tropical Storms Marco and Laura, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with plant operations. The shutdown of the largest refinery in the US began on Monday, as the refiner prepared to anticipate the threat of heavy rain from the twin storms, the sources said. Motiva will completely idle all units except two boilers by sometime on Tuesday.
