For refinery and petrochemical projects, a memorandum of understanding has been signed by KBR with L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd (LTHE). To develop business opportunities, KBR and LTHE will collaborate under the terms of the agreement.
LTHE will be the EPC provider. Meanwhile, KBR will license proprietary technology and engineering services. By involving KBR's solvent de-asphalting technology (ROSE), solid acid alkylation technology (K-SAATTM) and catalytic olefins technology (K-COTTM), LTHE will exclusively bid for projects globally. Its specific focus is in Africa, India, South East Asia and the Middle East.
Providing high alkylate yield and high feed flexibility, K-SAAT is KBR's next-generation solid acid alkylation technology. Among solvent de-asphalting technologies, ROSE (KBR's solvent de-asphalting technology) has more than 90 percent market share.
