Over the weekend, US natural gas output rose following the return of TC Energy Corp.’s Mountaineer Xpress pipeline in West Virginia after unplanned maintenance.
On Sunday, output jumped to 88.2 bcfd from the previous week of 87.0 bcfd when the Mountaineer was shut.
The pipeline returned the 2.6 bcfd pipe on July 11 following the shut down on July 11. The operator, TC Energy’s Columbia Gas Transmission (TCO) unit, said that the lifting of the force majeure was earlier than expectation.
According to Refinitiv, the natural gas output in the Lower 48 US states has averaged 88.1 bcfd so far in July despite the decline in output last week. It was a rise from June’s lowest in 20 months of 87.0 bcfd following the closing of wells due to the slump in energy prices.
