On Monday, the authority of a US state West Virginia announced that a new methanol plant will be built in Pleasant County.
The facility to be built by West Virginia Methanol firm will have a methanol production capacity of 900 tpd of high-purity methanol from natural gas.
It is estimated to cost USD350 million and the final investment decision (FID) is scheduled for the first half of 2021. The operations are expected to commence as early as mid-2023.
According to the officials of the region, the site is conveniently located for regional methanol customers currently transporting methanol from the US Gulf Coast or from other countries.
