NuStar Energy said that there are signs of crude export recovery in its Corpus Christi terminal, Texas.
In the third quarter of 2020, the facility’s crude throughput averaged 380,000 bpd, jumping by 24% quarter-to-quarter.
The company’s Permian crude pipeline system in west Texas also saw volumes moving higher, partly due to producers are bringing drilled but uncompleted (DUC) wells into service. The Permian volumes averaged at 422,000 bpd in the period, up from 401,000 bpd in the previous quarter.
The company just expanded the Permian system’s capacity last year by 100,000 bpd to the final count of 560,000 bpd, and added 34 well connections.
Earlier this week, NuStar stated that it would sell two of its terminals in Texas City, Texas, to BWC Terminals.
Going forward, NuStar predicted output to modestly increase in 2021 and would end that year at 470,000 bpd.
