AlwaysFree: Pakistan Top Export Market For Chinese Gasoline In September

Author: SSESSMENTS

Pakistan emerged as the largest export market for Chinese gasoline in September, exceeding the traditional destination of Singapore. According to official customs data released on Wednesday, China exported 242,000 tons of gasoline to Pakistan last month. That represents an increase of 227.5% from August and 126% from September last year. In January-September 2021, China’s gasoline exports to Pakistan soared 765.8% year-on-year to 926,000 tons.

Pakistan’s oil product demand increased by 24%year-on-year to 5.863 million tons in July-September, thanks to a rebound in transportation and industrial activity. The country’s oil demand is set to grow significantly in the coming months underpinned by a central bank stimulus package, a healthy farm sector, and robust vehicle sales, analysts said.

Meanwhile, China’s gasoline exports to Singapore jumped 495.8% from August to 209,000 tons in September, but still down 60.7% compared to a year earlier. Singapore accounted for about 39.5% of China’s overall gasoline exports in January-September, dropping from 52% during the same period in 2020. China’s gasoline shipments to Indonesia also rose sharply by around 140.9% year-on-year to 838,000 tons in January-September. China’s total gasoline outflows rose by 61.9% to 920,000 tons in September from a 30-month low of 568,406 in August.
