- In view of the forthcoming transport logistic fair next week in Munich, we are glad to report first results on the cooperation between Duisport and Port of Antwerp-Bruges, as we have started to combine our strengths.
According to the company’s website press release on April 17, 2023:
Daily services
Did you know that Port of Antwerp-Bruges offers daily services via rail and barge transport to/from Duisburg, the biggest inland port in Europe? As from the hub Duisburg, you can use further rail connections to the whole European hinterland, f.e. CEE, Turkey or France. The transport is suitable for all types of cargo, also semi-trailers P400
Thanks to the transport operators Hupac, Kombiverkehr, HTS Group, Contargo, Haeger & Schmidt and EGS, you can transport your cargo on daily basis via rail or barge, with competitive transit times and pricing, contributing to a sustainable modal shift.
We are happy about the positive developments in terms of rail connectivity and the new shuttles of Hupac.
Supply of hydrogen
Cooperation between the two ports is also gaining momentum in the area of energy transition. The establishment of a stable supply chain between the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and the Port of Duisburg is of central importance to ensure the future supply of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives to industry. To this end, the two ports are investigating various approaches and are planning the implementation of a first pilot. The aim is to represent a complete transport chain from the producer to the user.
