Indonesia’s state-owned oil company Pertamina exported its first diesel cargo to Malaysia, a local media reported. According to the report, Pertamina shipped 200,000 barrels or 31,800 kilolitres of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) from its Refinery Unit V Balikpapan (RU V). The exports were reportedly worth IDR143.15 billion ($9.5 million). The exported fuel complies with the Euro 4 standards with a maximum sulfur content of 50 ppm. It has a minimum Cetane Number of 51 and a minimum flashpoint of 60 degrees Celsius.
RU V General Manager Eko Sunarno in the report said that the refinery could produce 200,000 barrels of diesel with such specs every month. Sunarno said the export was also a result of low domestic demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic. He also noted that Pertamina plans to export the fuel at a similar volume every month in October to December.
