On Tuesday, PetroChina Co. Ltd. said that its subsidiary Daqing Petrochemical Corp. refinery had started to process its first Russian crude oil after finishing plant upgrade.
Daqing will process 3.5 mtpa of Russian oil transported via the East Siberia Pacific Ocean Pipeline.
Previously in August, the refinery completed an expansion program, which increased its annual processing capacity to 10 mt or 200,000 bpd from the previous capacity of 6.5 mt. The plant previously processed mostly medium sweet crude from Daqing oilfield.
