On Tuesday, the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte approved the extension of the lockdown and home quarantine until the end of the month to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Initially, the Enhanced Community Quarantine was scheduled to end next week. Now, the activities are prolonged until April 30.
The policies restricting movement and gatherings in and out of the capital Manila have been effective in nearly a month as a response to the confirmation of the first domestic transmission.
