AlwaysFree: Phillips 66 Louisiana Refinery May Need 3 Weeks to Restore Power

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Tuesday, sources familiar with plant operations said that Phillips 66 refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana would need three weeks to recover power following Hurricane Laura’s landfall.

Previously on August 25, the 260,000 bpd refinery was shut as the hurricane was estimated to make landfall southwest of Lake Charles, and Laura passed over the area on Thursday. At the moment, the refinery is undergoing assessments even after being hampered by a chemical fire at a plant nearby.

Separately, on Monday, a local power provider Entergy said that the seven power-line corridors to Lake Charles received catastrophic damage from Laura.
