On Wednesday, Qatar Petroleum (QP) stated that it has agreed to reserve liquified natural gas (LNG) ship construction capacity in China with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd.
The agreement includes a portion of Hudong’s LNG ship construction capacity for QP through 2027. The deal value could be around QAR11 billion (USD3 billion).
QP said that its future LNG carrier fleet necessities, including those tied to the ongoing North Field expansion projects, have been reserved so that they are able to be met in due time to increase production capacity.
