Qatar Petroleum (QP) will expand its liquefaction capacity using the first expansion phase of North Field.
The phase is named North Field East (NFE) and is valued at USD28.75 billion. It will increase the company’s liquefaction capacity to 110 million tpa by 2025. Currently, the nameplate capacity is 77 million tpa.
The final investment decision (FID) is targeted this year on the second expansion phase, North Field South (NFS), which is set to boost national liquefaction capacity to 126 million tpa.
However, the company has yet to define timelines for further increasing output.
