India’s Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) will double its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling capacity.
The company will set up a recycled polyester staple fiber (PSF) manufacturing facility–Recron GreenGold and PET flakes wash-line in Andhra Pradesh to double its recycling capacity to 5 billion post-consumer PET bottles.
Srichakra Ecotex India Pvt. Ltd. will build and operate the facility.
The facility will ensure India maintains an over 90% recycling rate.
