- According to Elena Titova, annually Rosatom buys products worth 350 billion rubles ($5.6 bln) from foreign manufacturers
According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on November 1, 2022, Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom plans to replace 450 foreign suppliers with Russian ones in the next ten years, head of the logistics department of the state corporation Elena Titova announced on Monday.
"We have set ourselves such a goal - to replace 450 foreign manufacturers with Russian ones. We decided to form an "atomic plan" for ten years and determine how we will act in order to achieve this result," she said at the round table of the State Planning Committee at the Federation Council.
According to Titova, annually Rosatom buys products worth 350 billion rubles ($5.6 bln) from foreign manufacturers. This is primarily due to the construction of nuclear power plants abroad and the requirements of contracts with foreign customers.
She noted that in 2022, Rosatom switched to long-term planning for import substitution. "We did not start dealing with import substitution yesterday, but it was this year that we switched to long-term planning and called it "atomic plan". <…> We set a planning horizon for ourselves for ten years - 2033," she said.
