AlwaysFree: SASA to License Invista’s P8 Technology for New Plant in Turkey

Author: SSESSMENTS

SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. (SASA) is to license the Invista Performance Technologies (IPT)’s P8 process technology for its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) facility in Yumurtalik district, Adana, Turkey.

The project will have a PTA production capacity of 1.5 million tpa and it would be the biggest single-stream design capacity licensed by Invista with the variable cost, capital productivity, and environmental performance expected to set new benchmarks within the industry.

For SASA, this project would be the company’s first step investment in petrochemicals with more investment in polyester, PTA, and MEG to follow. SASA aims to enable self-sufficiency in PTA, terminating all PTA imports into Turkey.

IPT is Invista’s technology and licensing arm.
