AlwaysFree: Shanghai Huayi To Use Honeywell UOP Technology At New PDH Plant

Author: SSESSMENTS

Shanghai Huayi’s subsidiary Guangxi Huayi New Material Co., Ltd has selected Honeywell UOP C3 Oleflex technology for its new propane dehydrogenation plant in Qinzhou, Guangxi, China. Honeywell UOP will provide services, catalysts, and adsorbents for Huayi’s new 750,000 tons/year unit. This marks the 38th award for C3 Oleflex technology in China, Honeywell UOP said.

According to the service provider, the C3 Oleflex technology processes propane to produce propylene by using catalytic dehydrogenation. It claims that its proprietary technology requires lower production costs and can enable producers to yield higher investment return. Oleflex consumes lower energy and emits less carbon. It also uses a recyclable alumina-based catalyst which also reduces environmental impacts.

Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company is China’s state-controlled conglomerate in the chemical sector. It produces various chemicals including acrylic acid, acetic acid, esters, and methanol. It also operates manufacturing facilities to produce plastics, paints, pigments, and dyes. The new PDH plant is part of the Phase 2 development of the Qinzhou complex.
