As Royal Dutch Shell prepares to accelerate its shift towards low-carbon, the energy company will announce a major restructuring by the end of the year, CEO Ben van Beurden told employees.
As part of broad cost reductions, the restructuring would involve job cuts, although no figures have been decided yet, van Beurden said. In the energy transition, Ben spoke about positioning the company. Before 2021, the new structure will not take effect.
Royal Dutch Shell will go through a comprehensive review of the company over the coming months. Where appropriate it will redesign its organisation to adapt to a different future and emerge stronger, the company said in a statement.
