According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on March 10, 2023, Spain’s imports of Russian liquified natural gas (LNG) soared by 151.4% year-on-year in February, according to the data of Spanish energy company Enagas.
In February, Spain purchased the equivalent of 5,465 gigawatt-hours of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia, while a year earlier it was about 2,174 gigawatt-hours. That means that in February 2023 Russia ranked third in terms of supplies of LNG to Spain after Algeria and the United States.
Earlier Enagas reported, that in 2022 the volume of LNG purchased by Spain from Russia increased by 45% year-on-year. As a result, in 2022, Russia ranked fourth in terms of supplies of LNG to the kingdom after the United States, Algeria and Nigeria.
