Taiwan’s CPC Corp. is finding gasoline following the unexpected shutdown on its secondary unit in Talin refinery. The move was the first time in many years.
The unit was shut in mid-June on the back of a mechanical glitch and is estimated to restart production by the end of this month.
CPC is prompted to hold a tender that closes on July 1 to find 300,000 barrels of 95-octane gasoline for July 15-31 arrival.
Normally, the company does not import the fuel and exports gasoline to Asia instead.
