TechnipFMC plc FTI just won a major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Assiut National Oil Processing Company (ANOPC) to build a new Hydrocracking Complex for the Assiut refinery in Egypt.
Under the pact, TechnipFMC’s steam-reforming proprietary technology will be used in several new processing units including Vacuum Distillation, Diesel Hydrocracking, Delayed Coker, Distillate Hydrotreating and a Hydrogen Production Facility. Other processing units including interconnecting, offsites, and utilities will also be included.
Lower-value petroleum products from Assiut Oil Refining Company’s adjacent facility will possibly be converted into 2.8 mtpa of cleaner fuels including Euro 5 diesel.
