On Wednesday, a fire broke out in a refinery in Iran’s capital Tehran and killed one worker and hurt one other while also hit the feedstocks supply of bitumen.
The cause of the fire at the Shahid Tondgouyan Refinery was leaking gasoline in one of the refinery’s units and it triggered an explosion.
The 220,000 bpd refinery’s production was not affected significantly, but it has to stop all supplies of vacuum bottom (VB) feedstock by trucks to bitumen producers. The supplies would still be restricted for the upcoming few weeks due to the repair process.
